Thankyou to Ian Hughes for sharing his #MacHouse family story. We send lots of love to Isla, and were glad to be able to help you all.
“On July 1st 2018 my daughter Isla, who was four, had a stroke. We were transferred to the brilliant Alder Hey, my wife stayed with Isla and one of the lovely nurses on B2 ward told us about Ronald McDonald house. You were a saviour to us.
Myself and my son Jack came over to yourselves and we were told we could stay as long as we needed. Isla was in hospital for three months and myself and my son stayed at Mac House you for around two months. It enabled us to stay late and go to Isla’s room early.
It really was a God send and meant we didn’t have to travel. It was such a lovely unexpected gesture letting us stay, and at such an awful time it enabled us to concentrate on Isla’s recovery ahead. Thank you so much.
Mac House is such an amazing place as is Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Charity, everyone is so lovely and it all helps at such a distressing time. Isla continues her recovery receiving physio and ot in the community and is working so hard, with a smile always on her face ❤️ thank you.”
