Volunteers are a crucial part of running Ronald McDonald House Liverpool, and thanks to their support and assistance, we are able to keep the house running smoothly and comfortably for the families who rely on us.
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, whether that is companies looking to place volunteers as part of their corporate responsibility, individual volunteers who would like to pop in and help for a few hours if they have some spare time on their hands, or retired volunteers who are able to offer help on a more regular basis to share their valuable skills. There are plenty of ways you can help us. With 84 rooms we always have a lot of jobs to do!
Pauline Fairclough has been a Mac House volunteer for 13 years, and keeps our garden looking beautiful for families to relax in.
‘I originally decided I’d volunteer at Ronald McDonald House for a year, and that suddenly turned into 13 years! I enjoy looking after the garden, and making it nice for the families who stay here. It is a sanctuary for the parents, and a place to relax. I like chatting to families while I am gardening and sometimes people share their stories with me. I love volunteering here, it is therapeutic for me, and the staff here are very welcoming and supportive. I’d say to anyone who is thinking about volunteering, that you may give a lot – but you will definitely get a lot back.’
