Research has proven that keeping families together can help to speed up the recovery time for a sick child. At Ronald McDonald House, we understand that, and work hard to keep all families together. Keeping family life as normal as possible is so important for the brothers and sisters of the child in hospital, which is where we are on hand to help. Being away from home can be unsettling, so we try to make that time away from home as normal as possible for the children who stay with us.
Reading a story together as a family at bedtime can be a comforting reminder of normal life. A £5 donation could add a book to our day room for families to read together.
Every year Ronald McDonald House Liverpool welcomes over 2000 families of critically ill children who are patients at Alder Hey Hospital into our home from home accommodation. We need to raise £700,000 each year so these families can stay with us free of charge in one of the 84 rooms for as long as their child is in hospital. It’s supporters like you who ensure that no family is separated from their child, or each other, at this difficult time.
You’ll receive an email to acknowledge your donation, as well as a downloadable gift certificate to share with them. All donations received from our virtual gift campaign will support the core running of the house, ensuring that families are kept together without worrying about the cost.
