The donation of…A Hug for our House
Your £100 donation of a hug for the house could provide a home from home and support for a family to stay with us for as long as they need to, while their child is critically ill in hospital.
Our staff are the warm smile at the end of a tough day, a shoulder to cry on after difficult news and a helping hand with navigating life away from home.
Our families arrive to stay with us at one of the worst times in their lives. With the immense stress of having a child in hospital, the last thing they need is the extra pressure of worrying about where they will stay, and how they will pay for that. At Ronald McDonald House Alder Hey we take away all of that worry, and give families and carers the space to concentrate on their child.
So much more than a bed to sleep in, we offer support for our families with food and meals, activities to meet and form friendships to support each other on their journey as well as providing some respite for siblings with our regular play sessions. A hug for the house is real wrap around support from the beginning of a stay until the family leaves us.
Your £100 donation of ‘A Hug For Our House’ could provide a home from home and support for a family to stay with us for as long as they need to.
Every year Ronald McDonald House Liverpool welcomes over 2000 families of critically ill children who are patients at Alder Hey Hospital into our home from home accommodation. We need to raise £700,000 each year so these families can stay with us free of charge in one of the 84 rooms for as long as their child is in hospital. It’s supporters like you who ensure that no family is separated from their child, or each other, at this difficult time.
You’ll receive an email to acknowledge your donation, as well as a downloadable gift certificate if you are giving this as a gift. All donations received from our virtual gift campaign will support the core running of the house, ensuring that families are kept together without worrying about the cost.
