Our family and friends fundraising is the most crucial element of all our fundraising work. It costs £600,000 to run Mac House each year. The families who stay with us, recently and throughout the 25 years we have been open, understand the difference made by the charity and along with their extended families and friends, they often get together to raise funds to keep Mac House open. Our families know we are totally independent and must raise all our own funds and they set about doing that in a vast range of amazing ways.
What can you do to help raise funds for Mac House? Well, pretty much anything as long as it’s legal, decent, safe and enjoyable! Some of the activities families have done to raise funds for us include:

For details of events organised by our fundraising team, which you can be part of, take a look at our facebook page, where events are regularly updated. We always have bag packing events that require volunteers. Your help would mean a lot!
Mac House supporters who raise £1000 or above can place a plaque with a personal message on our tree of life. We have several of these trees placed around Mac House with messages from our families and friends.
Some of our families continue fundraising for us long after they have stayed with us at Mac House. For families and supporters who raise £3500 or more, sponsorship of one of our rooms can be arranged with a personalised message.
